Yes, Marco Island has its own version of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright types. They were collectively known as the Syndicate.

Pump millions of gallons of effluent into the waterways? Drain hydrogen sulfide laced water into the Gulf of Mexico. Pulverize asbestos into the air, and bury the remnants under a park? Lie about all of the environmental crimes? Prosecute and persecute those who exposed the abuses against nature using corrupt judges, prostituted attorneys?

And now you have the Red Tide affecting the health of all on the island. But don't worry, just like inhaling toxic levels of hydrogen sulfide was deemed to be ok, the irritation to your sinuses and throat and lungs is just in your mind.

And now you have the Red Tide. Oh my, will the tourist stay away? Will Marco Island's version of a Ponzi Scheme, aka real estate prices, come crumbling down? Of course the media and the purveyors of the real estate scam will continue to talk up what a wonderful place it is, notwithstanding the penchant to screw people (literally and figuratively - the former the rampant infidelity and whoredom).

And now you have the Red Tide. Last year, Hurricane Wilma. Next? Who knows ...

But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.
