Lethal Water Tragedy to Air on MSNBC

Approximately one year ago I was contacted by the U.S. Marine Corps asking me to participate in a study resulting from my time as a Marine at Camp Lejeune nearly four decades earlier. The purpose of the study is to determine the extent by which Marines that were stationed at Camp Lejeune were harmed from contaminated water.

The problem is quite serious. Many Marines have died and many are suffering from illnesses resulting from ingesting and bathing in water infused with known carcinogens such as TCE (TCE is trichloroethylene – it is a colorless liquid used as a solvent and for dry cleaning) and PCE (PCE is perchloroethylene – it is also used for dry-cleaning and as a degreaser) to name but two.

As we would expect, especially by those of us here on Marco Island that "lived" through the pulverizing of asbestos, from the release of poisoned gas into the air, and from pumping toxic effluent into the waterways – all from the sewer project, the contamination in Camp Lejeune and the resultant deleterious effects were denied by the government and of course by the Environmental Protection Agency. Akin to the denial by the syndicate and the "staff" here on Marco Island, and at on the onset by the Environmental Protection Agency, it took one activists to bring the matter to light and eventually forced the EPA to act, again just like here on Marco Island.

We do not know what the long-term health effects will be from the City of Marco Island releasing asbestos into the air, from discharging lethal levels of hydrogen sulfide gas into the air, and from pumping millions of gallons of toxic effluent into the waterways.

It is unclear if the contamination in Camp Lejeune was intentional – unlike here on Marco Island where it was deliberate, premeditated and willful. We do know that the same type of Marco Island-styled morally and intellectually corrupt individuals in Camp Lejeune also took part in prolonged denials, besmirching and obfuscation long enough so as to come to haunt us Marines. More than haunt, their actions has harmed my brothers and your protectors beyond imagination.

For those of us that served as U.S. Marines especially during the aforementioned tumultuous time in our history known as the Vietnam Era, the aphorism by Clare Boothe Luce is terribly salient: no good deed goes unpunished.

Please watch this Friday February 24 at 10PM on MSNBC the 2011 film entitled "Semper FI: Always Faithful." This film has received myriad awards and accolades. (Do check your local listings to be sure of the time slot.)

Apology to MITA

The previous article "Reelecting the Worst" incorrectly referred to "MITA" when the reference was clearly meant for "MICA". The error has been corrected.

MITA (Marco Island Taxpayers Association) under the leadership and care of Dr. Fay Byles has been an honest and vigilant watchdog over the City of Marco Island's finances. MITA's work is invaluable.

Hence, a heartfelt apology to the fine folks at MITA for the typographical error in the previous post/article.

Reelecting the Worst

President Obama will be reelected. As will the syndicate on Marco Island. The rationale for reelecting the kakistocracy at the national level and here again on the local level are practically identical.

The factors are thus:

Media
With one exception, the mainstream media refuses to be critical of President Obama, seemingly justifying every blunder. Worse, some networks and newspapers have become the de facto propaganda arm for the administration. Crimes like Solyndra and "Fast and Furious" are not kept alive through honest reporting. To ask newspapers for investigative reporting akin to Watergate is a pipe dream.

For Marco Island, there are no newspapers that would dare be critical of anything the city does, let alone attempt some investigative work. Every reporter that has written about the STRP or asbestos or dewatering has been summarily shanghaied after a visit to the "newspaper" by the island's goon squad. A local TV station has been shut up by a lawsuit over the city's violations of the Clean Water Act and Clean Air Act.

Media Epilogue: Without some exercise of the first amendment, governments will do what they want, convey whatever lie they want, and the careless will simply believe what they see and read.

OBVIATING PAST ABUSES
With American people having a terribly short memory, and an even shorter tolerance for the disgusting, they quickly forget past abuses. With the median age on Marco Island being higher than anywhere except for hospices, the forget factor is even shorter.

An abridged list:

  • Nationally: TARP, Obamacare, Solyndra, "Fast and Furious", Crony Capitalism, "shovel ready projects", national debt at $16,000,000,000,000 ($50,000 PER PERSON), incompetent leadership.
  • Marco Island: STRP, Clean Air Act violation, Clean Water Act violation, naming of city hall, Towne Centre and density "studies", Crony Capitalism, city debt at $400,000,000 ($26,000 PER PERSON), incompetent (and bankrupt) leadership.

If one were to consider that unlike the federal government, Marco Island is not responsible for national defense or major entitlements (e.g., Social Security), the per-person debt by Marco Island is greater than the per-person debt of the entire nation.

Obviating Past Abuses Epilogue: With the assistance from the compromised media, the interminable list of abuses will be buried and forgotten ensuring that the President will appear unblemished. Arguably, the abuses are worse here on Marco Island. But given the demographics and the insidiousness of the syndicate, the voters here will forget the abuses and simply reelect whatever lackeys are put forth as candidates.

Class Warfare
The President and his stooges have created class warfare so divisive that historians are claiming that the current strife is worse than the crisis of the Civil War. Rich against poor, persons paying a high tax-rate versus those paying a low tax-rate, black against white, abortionists (masked by the ruse of "women's rights") pitted against proponents of religious liberty, young versus old, employed versus the unemployed. The list is practically endless.

For Marco Island, the syndicate has been effective is creating a division between owners of houses and the condominium dwellers, those that use too much water and those that don't, the full-time residents versus the part-time residents, owners of developed lots contrasted to those owners of undeveloped lots. And of course the syndicate has denigrated, slurred, besmirched and even assaulted the anti-STRP citizens in favor of those that bought the lie about the STRP (this division has morphed into the war on "fair" utility rates), the business clique (MICA, Realtors, restaurants, Chamber of Commerce) set against resident taxpayers.

Class Warfare Epilogue: As Sun Tsu was apt to point out, "divide and conquer" – the statists here as the ones nationally will prevail given that the majority (non-statist) are fighting against each other.

Plausible Deniability
Nationally we are treated to "Czars" that are not accountable to the people, and cabinet secretaries that make rules by fiat (HHS Secretary forcing employers and insurance companies to provide contraception; EPA Secretary mandated CO2 regulations, carbon tax, etc..; to name but two examples).

Locally we have the 5½ city councilors are that are shills for the syndicate; committees infused with the same people that are shuffled about in order to "advise" the syndicate behind the scenes; public works directors that suggest X so that the city council can vote on X then when X becomes illegal or destroys the environment or costs way too much the public works director claims that it's not his/her/its fault because the city council voted on it while the city council claims that it is not their fault because the public works director suggested it.

Plausible Deniability Epilogue: Under these circumstances no one is responsible. Hence no one can be blamed. Hence reelection!

Special Interests
Nationally we have the unions, the environmentalist extremists, the DNC, the lobbyist, big business, NOW, Media Matters, to name but a very few.

Locally we have MICA, Chamber of Commerce, Realtors, the syndicate, Restaurant Association, Collier County Courthouse to name but a very few.

Special Interests Epilogue: Both nationally and locally, laws, "projects" and the regulations are written by the special interests for their exclusive benefit. As are the exceptions to the restrictions. With the special interests fixing the game, reelection is a forgone conclusion.

Bogus Science
Nationally we have global warming (now referred to as "climate change" since the "warming" part has been long disproved by simply looking outside) in addition to the greatest hoax perpetrated on humanity – ethanol. The obverse of junk science is the good science that is ignored or denigrated for political reasons – as in the case of the Keystone Pipeline.

On Marco Island we were entreated to believing that "there be fecal in them there waterways!" (of course that was a lie). The obverse of junk science is the good science that is ignored or denigrated for political reasons – as is the case of using deprecated septic tanks for cisterns and thereby save millions of gallons a year in water (only two exist on the island.)

Bogus Science Epilogue: When scientists, "environmental specialists" and other pseudo-intellectuals are prostituted or otherwise sell their souls in order to maintain their jobs or promote some political agenda, they ensure perpetuity to the incumbents simply from the confusion and false accusations that ensue from the lies.

Dependency Class
Approximately 50% American are on the government's teat. A similar percentage of people do not pay taxes. The "rich" – that according to the miscreants of Occupy Whatever makes up 1% of Americans – pay 70% of the taxes.

Here on Marco Island we can expose the dependency class by two examples: 1)So, exactly who benefited from the sewer system? AND 2)Who exactly walked into a city council meeting and demanded that a portion of Collier Boulevard be redesigned/redone so there would be an entrance into his restaurant?

Dependency Class Epilogue: Nationally one can suggest that the dependent class is "poor" – as in those receiving food stamps or perpetual unemployment insurance. But here on Marco Island, the dependent class is comprised of big business and the syndicate.

Summary
In modern times we have seen politics be the driving force of society. It was not too long ago that vision and patriotism was that driving force, a welcomed change from when zealotry of religion or nobility or enslavement were the driving forces.

Politics, like power, corrupts. Parallels between disjointed actions are indications that similar outcomes invariably follow from similar scenarios. History shows us that corruption, like cancer, spreads as a means to ensure its survival.

Those here as in Washington that create the dependency class, the class warfare, the bogus science, hide behind plausible deniability and are protected by the media do so for one simple reason: to mask their true intentions and through obfuscation cause the necessary misdirection long enough so that people do not notice that they are reelecting those responsible for all of the maladies.

The national corruption will ensure its survival by its reelection. There will be a similar reelection on Marco Island as the parallels between the nation and the island are strikingly comparable.

On the national arena good honest men have with good ideas and exposing the truth been destroyed and thereby ensuring that they were not elected. On Marco Island good honest men with good ideas and exposing the truth have been destroyed and thereby ensuring that they were not elected.

President Obama will be reelected. The Marco Island syndicate will be reelected when the next set of marionettes are put forth.

Count on it.

  • Interesting, MITA is included in the powers that represent some folks on Marco Island. My understanding from reading MITA's monthly newsletters, was one of representing all taxpayers. Am I missing something?

Perhaps you can expound on your rationale for inclusion of MITA with the likes of the Chamber of Commerce, etc.

Marco Island Property Owners (MIPO) consistently recommends its members also become members of MITA for the information they provide in their newsletters. Again, am I missing something.

A curious mind, would love your comments, not for challenge but for a better understanding.

    Overall, keep the posts coming.

    the reference was to MICA.

    the article has been corrected.

thank you for pointing out this error.

  • An absolute dead on accessment! Brilliant in all its analogies and comparisions. The the syndicate and Chamber must be held accountable for causing a divide on ths island that may never be healed.

  • Dr. Mario you have done it again. No truer words were ever written than your fine article. You should gather it up and present it to the local newspaper for publication. Of course they will not print it and it will be one more proof that they are in bed with the evil forces that have ruined Marco Island.

  • thank you for your praise - greatly appreciated. i am afraid that based on the lawsuit, threat of lawsuit, and the influence of the syndicate on all local newspapers (heck, one of them has syndicate writers on staff), no paper would carry the article. the local "newspapers" have long ago abdicated their 1st amendment privilege and are nothing but advertisements suffused with local meaningless man-bites-dog stories and that which they can plagiarize from the news wires. they are welcomed to use the article as long as they give the appropriate copyright mention.

    thanks again.

  • Mario please run for the city council.

  • thank you but if it weren't for the lawsuit against me for exposing the truth i would. the island needs to get rid of the syndicate and the only way is to expose them - which i already started to do but this case is quite taxing and given that it is being heard in front of a compromised judge all of my energies are deployed to fight for our 1st amendment rights.

  • Mario - I see many mentions of "the syndicate" that runs things on Marco Island. Can you provide some identifying data on exactly who the syndicate is? Names or organizations would help a lot. I assume, from reading your comments that the Chamber of Commercie is one organization, and I guess it would follow that most (if not all) of the business owners on the island would also be included.

What the City of Marco Did NOT Get but ...

told everyone that they either did not need (not true) or already had (not true either) when the city was pumping millions of gallons of toxic effluent into the waterways and the Gulf of Mexico.

This regulation is so important (that the city of course violated) that the EPA just ensured it stays on the books for a long time to come ...

-----
EPA Issues Permit for Stormwater Discharges from Construction Sites New permit includes more protections for waterways, shaped by important public and stakeholder feedback

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is issuing a new permit, in accordance with the Clean Water Act, that will provide streamlined permitting to thousands of construction operators, while protecting our nation’s waterways from discharges of polluted stormwater from construction sites. Stormwater discharges from construction sites can contain harmful pollutants, such as nutrients, that contaminate waters, increase drinking water treatment costs, and damage aquatic ecosystems. The new permit was shaped by important input from the public and stakeholders to ensure that it provides important protections for waterways, while also providing flexibility to operators.

The 2012 construction general permit (CGP) is required under the Clean Water Act and replaces the existing 2008 CGP, which expired on February 15, 2012. The new permit includes a number of enhanced protections for surface waters, including provisions to protect impaired and sensitive waters. Under the Clean Water Act, national pollutant discharge elimination system (NPDES) permits are typically issued for a five-year period, after which time EPA generally issues revised permits based on updated information and requirements, as is the case with today’s announcement. NPDES permits control water pollution by including limits on the amount of pollutants that can be discharged into waterways by specific sources. The permit also provides new flexibilities for operators. For example, it allows for emergency projects (e.g., restoration following a flood or other natural disaster) to begin immediately without permit authorization from EPA, while still retaining full authority for EPA to ensure that the project proceeds in an environmentally responsible manner once it has commenced. The permit also enables operators of already permitted projects flexibility where compliance with a new permit requirement is economically impracticable.

Marco Island City Councilor Now in US Congress!

YES! Just exactly like one of our esteemed city councilors, with the same knowledge, eloquence, interest and engaging demeanor as a US Congressman! YES! We recall with fond memories the same questioning when that whole "there be fecal in the water" discussion was going on, and "there be darn there asbestos being buried", and "we be pumping poison into the Gulf"!

Only 2 minutes - enjoy.

How the Syndicate Cares for Marco Island

Courtesy of the same government with the same "environmental specialist" that brought you the asbestos contamination and the hydrogen sulfide poisoning and the pumping of millions of gallons of contaminated water into the Gulf Of Mexico.

And it keeps on coming. Did anyone expect anything different from the same guard?

Pictures taken by a concerned citizen and asking if anyone is doing anything about PREVENTING this type of pollution. The answer is obvious.

Lies from the Spiral of Silence

From the Manhattan Declaration:

William Wilberforce understood the power of words long before German sociologist Elisabeth Noelle-Newmann coined the phrase “The Spiral of Silence.” He spoke out against the injustices of the prevailing cultural norms of his day and spearheaded a movement that abolished slavery and reformed British culture.

The Spiral of Silence has a stranglehold on culture, spinning a web of Lies that threaten to destroy the very fabric of society.

The Spiral of Silence is fragile, and if one by one we stand up and speak out against the Lie, against injustice, against evil, the spiral will begin to unravel, and Truth and justice will prevail.
