Final Post

Throughout 1877 a band of 800 Nez Perce Indians fought off over 2,000 U.S. Calvary soldiers across 1,700 miles of America's northwest. Failing at myriad attempts of negotiating a just truce, nearly decimated, starving, and literally within sight of their sanctuary in Canada, on October 5, 1877 the Nez Perce gave up.

Their leader, Chief Joseph simply turned into the calvary and said

I am tired of talk that comes to nothing. Hear me, my chiefs, I am tired. My heart is sick and sad. From where the sun now stands, I will fight no more forever.

And so it is with this author.

After over four years, zero funding support, 508 articles, thousands of pictures and hundreds of hours of video, this blog will go silent.

  • Dr. Mario,
You were the voice of one crying in the wilderness. And an unappreciated one at that. This
island, with its present administration and unconcerned citizens is incapable of redemption. The only course left for salvation is a dissolution of the city charter and a return to the jurisdiction of Collier County.
Perhaps that should be the next
    crusade.

You gave it your best shot and for that you are to be commended.

Now you can take your well deserved rest with Chier Joseph.
